El origen de la ciudad oscura
Hace tiempo, cuando la sociedad europea comenzaba a florecer, la ciudad portuaria de Brujas, en Bélgica, obtuvo gran poderío comercial gracias a su localización. Muchos dicen que sus primeros pobladores hicieron un pacto con el diablo… u otros seres. En esa zona, se decía que habitaba una antigua raza de criaturas, y que le motivo por el cual Brujas posee sus numerosos canales, es para permitir que estos seres se muevan a gusto y con libertad. Los leviatanes, como fueron conocidos por su carácter volátil y su cola de serpiente marina, procuraron la ciudad, brindando pesca, tesoros y a cambio solo pidieron huéspedes humanos con los cuales fusionarse usando las reliquias de su raza. La verdad es que la ciudad prospero ampliamente durante siglos, hasta que el crecimiento de la población acabo por aislarla, quedando en el olvido. Aun así, se mantuvo aunque a menor esplendor que en el pasado. Poco a poco, los leviatanes fueron quedando dormidos en las profundidades de los canales donde se rumorea, que existe la ciudad de R'lyeh, donde ellos moran esperando el momento adecuado para resurgir y reclamar sus territorios una vez más.
